Las Dalias
Las Dalias is open every Monday and it’s one of the markets which has retained the hippie essence over the time. The town of San Carlos in which it is located, was the birthplace of hippies during the 60’s and this market is located in a rural setting with a variety of trees and open spaces that give it feeling of spaciousness, a nice much needed during the hot summer days.
This market surprises often with live music performances. Your lighting and decoration surrounds this space in a different, almost mystical, atmosphere. Among the items for sale are clothing and handmade jewelry and handicrafts. During the night it’s also the perfect place to enjoy the lively summer nights on the island.
Es Canar
It’s certainly the largest and most genuine market of Ibiza, which is open on Wednesdays from April to October. It’s filled with items from around the world, mostly handmade. Something that really stands out in this market is the variety and number of clothing with hippie style. There are also comfortable and cool dresses of the traditional Adlib fashion and even wedding dresses with hippie style. You can also find different artist, including cartoonists, percussion groups, as well as bars and cafes in which to take a break.
Cala Llenya
This market of second hand is celebrated once a week and it’s the most charming of the island. Maintains a hippie style but with a different aura respect to the other markets spirit. Cala Llenya is a favorite for the local people, and all you can find on it is original, handmade and second hand, plus their prices are usually very interesting. It’s held every Sunday, if the rain doesn’t prevent it, as it’s completely outdoors. The best time to visit it is off-season, especially in autumn and spring, as the number of people decreases and it’s more pleasant wander through the stalls.
The stalls are located in a forest of pine trees and close to the beach of Cala Llenya. Also in the center of the trail there is a restaurant with a terrace where to enjoy the performance of a live band that gives great atmosphere to place or a delicious plate of paella.
