Mind-blown, exhausted, overwhelmed and elated. All of the emotions I feel the morning after the night before, as I try and piece together six hours of incredible music, undeniable talent and dancefloor highlights. We had prepared for a special night as these kinds of one-off events usually mean maximum effort and anticipated turn-outs, but this year's Diynamic takeover at Amnesia has to be one for the books.
Label boss Solomun headlined at an earlier time of 1:00 AM and with him came thousands of eager clubbers and Solomun aficionados from all over the island. Arriving nice and early and with the obligatory snapshot outside the famous Amnesia bus, we made our way inside the superclub and began to groove. This date had been pencilled in for some time so we made no mistake of arriving on-time.
Diynamic is both a label and a family and you could immediately feel the magic in the air, the warm atmosphere and the history.
The Terrace filled up thick and fast as relentless melodic house and techno goodness blasted through the world’s most advanced KV2 sound system. Every time we see Solomun play, his sets consist of new, ingenious sounds that we have never heard before and, unfortunately, struggle to Shazam.
Saying that we managed to pick up a few bangers that made a prominent impact on the dancefloor. Take a listen.
No warm-up involved, the night began as it meant to end; with high energy and full-throttle sets prepared extra-specially for the occasion. Everybody was getting stuck in and dancing like nobody was watching.
Outside of the venue, the heavens had opened and the occasional August storm in Ibiza attempted to strike out Diynamic. Come rain or shine, clubbers queued patiently in the rain and once everyone was inside, the venue was rumbling as loud as the thunder. It would take more than a bit of rain to kill the up-lifting vibes of Diynamic.
Taking over from ear-deafening cheers, Solomun handed things over to the in-demand Italian selector Joseph Capriati. The showcase was made extra special as it was Capriati’s first appearance at the club since 2015. You could tell he was happy to be back and had saved up plenty of energy, slick beats and thumping techno for the party.
One of the many favourite moments of the evening includes when Capriarti dropped one of the hottest tunes of the summer so far; the Martinez Brothers remix of Saint Laurent by Lil Yachty and Lil Baby. I had waited all season to hear the tune live in a superclub and I can happily say it went down a treat. Hands in the air, we were loving every second.
Across in the main room, Swiss-duo Adriatique were inflicting their emotive driving techno to the red glowing masses. Through minimalistic and extraterrestrial soundscapes, we reached techno abyss during Adriatique’s flawless journey of sounds.
As we approached the final hurdle, Joseph Capriati's highly coveted back-to-back performance with Solomun made us feel as if we were back in Pacha at the famous Solomun+1 residency. Playing with the same passion and high standard as he does at his own residency, it is clear that the growth and progression of Diynamic is just as important as he pulls out all the stops for this exclusive event.
Come 6:30 AM, the Terrace was still packed; A sight you rarely see in Amnesia as of its large scale, there is usually always plenty of room to dance near the end. On this night, the capacity stayed the same as it was when we first arrived, proving that everybody must have been enjoying themselves just as much as I was.
Time flies when you're having fun and we guarantee there will be a lot of tired heads this morning. One thing's for sure, dancing until 7:00 AM has never been so worth it. Especially when Ninetoes 'Finder' was the final tune.
Arguably the best night of the season so far. One word: EPIC.
