The underground club of the island, Sankeys, was the last to close its doors. It has been a season of great sessions for a club that has not only managed to bet for a different style but also to be victorious at the challenge. With a predominantly British public and with new influences from UK and the other side of the pond, with great artists faithful to the style of Detroit and Chicago techno. On Wednesday, October 8th, Sankeys closing was celebrated with a festival that began at 10 pm and lasted until unmentionable hours the following day. Everything was allowed on the 20th birthday of the club from Manchester that decided to try luck in Ibiza four years ago.
Josef K was the first to roll the discs in the Basement, followed by the German Sidney Charles, DJ Sneak, Shlomir Aber and Darius Syrossian. The more underground side unfolded in the Spektrum hall by Adam Saville, Hector Cuoto B2B Quartet and Dave Rosario. Duke Dumont, Just Be, Andy Baxter, Andrea Oliva and Manu Gonzalez made the crowd dance non stop in the Lab room.
Also recently, Sankeys celebrated its first awards ceremony because of the 20th anniversary of Sankeys Manchester, on Monday, September 29th in which the club wanted to acknowledge the work over 200 deejays who have acted this season. Full list of winners below:
