The ANTS colony found home at Ushuaïa Ibiza back in 2013, and have since built a solid reputation on the island and across the globe. Based on a colony of relentlessly taste-making high profile bookings, as well as mainstay Andrea Olivia and their all-star resident cast, ANTs has become a hugely respected entity of the underground scene.
You’ll probably have noticed that Playa D’en Bossa has a serious ANT infestation on Saturday’s at Ushuaïa. The concept, Metropolis, runs throughout the whole club, so once you have pledged your alliance and enter the spectacle you will find yourself inside a thriving upside-down city.
Skyscrapers surround the stage and little critters are painted on the floors, climbing up the walls and along the barriers.
Upon arrival, you can accept a complimentary ANTs fan from staff. Or, join the queue and get yourself a temporary ANTs tattoo. The dancers are dressed in full-body black morph suits, so you’ll probably find yourself bumping into a giant ANT mid rave!
Dress in black like the ANTS, become part of the society and embrace what makes this party visually and atmospherically one of the most talked-about parties on the island.
Some of the best moments for me during a Saturday evening at Ushuaïa is the variety of music and euphoric remixes that surprise the crowd. Of course, it depends on the DJ hitting the decks, but the residents who usually close the show know exactly how to work the colony by picking the right track at the right time.
Some of the biggest names in house and techno provide minimalistic beats and exciting, unreleased, ground-shaking belters, such as when Solardo dropped their new tune with Eli Brown: XTC.
Not only do we hear some hot new tunes for the first time, but often it’s the old-school anthems that send everyone crazy. Take the second party of the season, when Kölsch made the fearless decision to play Queen. Apparently, he’d been waiting to drop “Bohemian Rhapsody“ at a gig for years, and the finale of his set at ANTs proved the perfect opportunity; that says a lot about the care-free atmosphere of the party. It was epic.
Last week Joris Voorn had everyone up on each other’s shoulders to his remix of U2’s “With or Without You”, followed by ending the evening on an absolute classic; "One More Time" by Daft Punk.
Ushuaïa has a reputation for having mind-blowing productions and has taken the concept of daytime clubbing and taken it to the next level.
As the sun sets, incredible pyrotechnics, lighting, visuals and festival-style production take clubbers on a unique partying experience in the heart of Ibiza. Watch aeroplanes soar above your heads as the beat drops and crowd roars; a mesmerising moment for all clubbers.
Least we forget the refreshing C02 cannons, flame blowers, lasers, colourful confetti showers and jaw-dropping dancers.
ANTs at Ushuaïa is probably the busiest event of the venue. If dancing in front of the main stage becomes too crowded for you, then you have the choice to dance in or around the pool at the back.
Additionally, The Cloud is a balcony terrace which offers you the best views of the party and the immersive light shows.
Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza are of the most convenient venues of the island. With day parties at Ushuaïa finishing at 23:00, those who wish to party around the clock can simply cross the road to Hï Ibiza for Black Coffee, or, take a stroll down the promenade and head to Bora Bora Beach Club.
With a bus stop and taxi rank right outside the exit, it’s quick and easy to head to another club if you would like to check out Elrow at Amnesia or Brutal at Privilege.
Partying made easy!
