Renown cake-thrower and nightclub rowboat captain, Steve Aoki is one of the biggest emerging figures of electronic music. After joining in the latests seasons at the F*** me I'm Famous Party with David Guetta, at Ushuaïa with Avicii or at Together Amnesia, in 2014 he started his first residency, Aoki's PlayHouse at Pacha. The party was a huge success, and in 2015 he will be repeating the formula, this time on Monday nights.
Graduated at the University of California in Feminist Studies and Sociology, he already made his own productions and underground performances at college. Aged 20 he released Dim Mak, his own record label, which he named in memory of his youth heroe, Bruce Lee. He also has hiw own magazine, Aoki, edited through Mymag.
In January 2012 he released his debut album, Wodnerland, collaborating with Will.I.Am, LMFAO, Kid Cudi, Travis Barker of Blink 182 or Rivers Cuomo (Weexer) amongst ohters and he's already released videoclips of Earthquakey People, Ladi Ladi, Heartbreaker and Cudi The Kid.
He was nominated as "Best Alternative / Indie Rock Dance Track" by A Light That Never Comes at the IMDA, as well as 'Electro House' in the DJ Awards of 2013, that finally Hardwell obtained. Ranked number 42 in the 2011 DJMag, he rised to 15th in 2012 and in the last edition he's ranked in the 8th position.
