Fatboy Slim, whose real name is Norman Quentin Cook, is a British DJ and producer recognized as a key figure in the big beat movement. Born on July 31, 1963, in Bromley, Kent, England, his career began with the band The Housemartins before adopting the Fatboy Slim alias in 1996, under which he achieved global fame.
His debut album as Fatboy Slim, Better Living Through Chemistry (1996), featured the hit "Everybody Needs a 303". This was followed by the iconic You've Come a Long Way, Baby (1998), which included hits such as "The Rockafeller Skank" and "Praise You". The latter gave him his first UK number one. Other notable albums include Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars (2000), featuring collaborations with Macy Gray, and Palookaville (2004), his fourth studio album.
