A Pioneer of Electronic Music
Carl Cox is an iconic figure in the electronic music scene and an influential British DJ and producer with a career spanning over three decades. Born in 1962 in Oldham, England, Cox has been a cornerstone of club culture, known for his live energy and unforgettable sets at global events. His style spans acid house, techno, progressive house, and tech-house.
Throughout his career, he has released notable albums such as At the End of the Cliché (1996), Phuture 2000 (1999), and All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor (2011). In 2022, he released Electronic Generations, his first studio album in over a decade, under the BMG label. This work includes collaborations with artists like Nicole Moudaber and Fatboy Slim, and reinforces his commitment to live sets and innovative productions.
Cox is also the author of an autobiography titled Oh yes, oh yes!, where he shares his unique perspective on the history of UK club culture. His legacy is undeniable, solidifying him as one of the most respected and beloved names in electronic music.
Nicknamed the Three Deck Wizard in the late '80s, Carl Cox celebrated two New Years' Eves in the new millennium by tricking time zones and flying across the world. It's also common for him to celebrate his birthday at the end of July surrounded by good friends and guest artists, a party not to be missed. With his iconic 'Oh yes, oh yes!', he spreads his passion to the audience, who go wild! Events like this have made him one of the most beloved and charismatic DJs, as well as highly respected by his fellow professionals.
So much so that neither fleeting trends nor new talents have overshadowed him during his 15 years of uninterrupted residency at Space Ibiza. After the permanent closure of Space (now Hï Ibiza) in 2016, the Manchester producer has continued to attend his Ibiza dates every summer, though on limited occasions and always as a guest at another residency, never his own.
